The Journey to the Destination
Read Acts 28
"Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ." Acts 28:31
He made it to Rome! He arrived! He knew getting to Rome was part of God's plan and he made it! He suffered adversity along the way, beatings, prison, ship wrecks, riots, yet he made it! Without hindrance he preached the word boldly. I don't think this is any more important than his journey getting to Rome. He preached the word boldly all along the way. He impacted so many. So many now believed. So many could now share the truth. They were not pointed to Paul and how awesome he was, but to the redeemer. They knew The Truth, The Way!
I look back at Acts 1, "but you will receive power when the holy spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. " (Acts1:8)
Ending the study of Acts, I have learned 3 things:
#1 I have the power of Jesus Christ through the Holy spirit! Alone, I don't have the words, I'm lost, dumb and make a mess of things, and gosh, I could go on and on. But that's not necessary, because I am not alone. Christ lives in me! He has thenwords! He knows the way! He is the LIGHT that shines through me!
#2 There are going to be storms! When you are doing the work of Christ, satan is in an uproar. He will do all that he can to thwart the plans of God. But we get to rest in the Victor's arms! For the battle has already been won!
#3 we each have a calling that Christ has prepared in advance for us to do, but it's not just about the destination, but the journey along the way. He will use each storm, each sunny day, and every season for his purpose and his glory, and never ever are we alone through the journey. Our daddy is right there with us, to hold us, to catch us, to encourage us, and love us!
Father, thank you so much for the incredible study of Acts. You wrapped it up so perfectly for me. Thank you for the calling that you have prepared in advance for me to do. .ay I finish the race and complete the task that you have called me to. Amd, may I praise you and boldly and joyfully speak your truth through every season and stop in the journey along the way. I love you so much father, and I pray God, that all who are listening to me today may become what I am, your princess!
