I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. -Psalm 86:12

Don't you love those mornings that God meets you right where you are, and shows you His glory?  This morning was one of those mornings!  Thank you Jesus!  I am currently starting my morning in Psalms.  This has been an awesome reminder of who He is!  I get so caught up in the me complex, and have enjoyed resting in who He is!  This morning, these two verses knocked my socks off:

You have taught children and nursing infants to give you praise. They silence their enemies who are seeking revenge. Psalm 8:2-3

I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name oh Most High. My enemies will turn away in retreat...Psalm 9:2-3

These verses reminded me of a time, not so long ago, a few girlfriends and I were attacked by the enemy. The crazy thing is, we were absolutely oblivious to it all, because we were in the word and praising Him with complete joy. After the fact, we saw the enemy, and were frightened, and scared...yet, already victorious.

You see, the enemy is prowling, attacking and real. So often, I see the tactics of the enemy and focus on them, turning my eyes from the Maker, and focusing on the deceiver. It is then, that my joy deflates, my fear creeps in and negativity, hate and distrust seep in and take over any joy I had left.

The night that my girlfriends and I witnessed a battle, we were praising God and focused on Matthew 22:37-38 Jesus replied, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind." This is the first and greatest commandment.
The enemy is going to prowl, attack, and strive to divert your attention and your focus.

Today, praise and love the Lord your God with everything you've got! There, you will find joy, peace, strength. And there, amidst your praise, the enemy will flee!

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord, let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving, let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hand formed the dry land. -Psalm 95:1-11
