10 I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it.




Good morning!  You know.  We serve a pretty spectacular God!  Just sayin' 


So today is December 15th.  Normally, by now I have all of my Christmas shopping done.  The tree and decorations are usually up a couple days after Thanksgiving.  I am usually that annoying, excited "in the Christmas spirit" elf/human.  For some reason, not so much this year.  I'm still not done Christmas shopping.  I barely put up my tree yesterday, which by the way is still undecorated.  I just haven't "felt" it.  And today...today I "feel" it.  You know.  Christmas is the celebration of the birth of our Savior.  Christmas is a celebration of  more than just the birth of our Savior.  Christmas was just the beginning.  Christmas was the beginning of what was to come.  Christ was born.  God came as man or baby to earth to save us!  It reminds me of the lyrics of Love, Love, Love by the Sidewalk Prophets:


Read about a man who came in to this world
Loving every man, woman, boy and girl
Hung out with some folks that would make you stare
Saying come as you are, you’re welcome here

Spent His life with the least of these
Died on a cross between two thieves
And on the third day the stone rolled away
He beat back death so we could say



So.  The true meaning of Christmas is beautiful.  Our Christ was born!  But that is just the beginning of the story!  I mean to feel the love that he has for me...the love he has for us!  It's beautiful!  This weekend alone he reminded me how beautiful his love is.  He did this through a beautiful sunrise, a rainbow, a silver lining, a sunset, snow, rain, my children, my husband, my family, my friends,  my wrestling kiddos ...he showed me love all weekend long! 


I've been worried.  I've been worried about how I was going to get my shopping done, my Christmas up, grades done, and so much more.  I focused on all of this.  I stressed about all of this!  I hadn't even made time to worry about how we were going to collect enough toys and food for the orphanage.  Isn't that crazy!  That actually took a back seat!  And then, I read the scripture in Philippians this morning...

I'm not sure what happened.  But, the holy spirit took over, even though I was so dumb to try to take the wheel, Christ took over.  He showed me.  He showed me what is noble, and right, pure and lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy. He showed me himself.  He showed me that HE alone is noble, right,  pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy.  He alone is worthy!  He was born on Christmas day!  He alone loves every man, woman, boy and girl.  He "Spent His life with the least of these, Died on a cross between two thieves,  And on the third day the stone rolled away,  He beat back death so we could say."


So...I "feel" it!  I get it!  I am in the Christmas spirit now, because HE is in me!!!!!  Christ is in me!  And this was made possible because he was born on earth of a virgin!
