Broken and beautiful
Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. -Philippians 1:12

Walking the beach, you may find the very treasured sea
glass. Some pieces are big, some small, each a different
shape, size and color. Some have sat on a shelf as
beautiful china, others started life as a bottle, plate,
vase, etc. Each piece has one thing in common. They
are all broken. Tossed in the ocean, they have
experienced rough waters, storms, and rough sand. All
of which has smoothed and re-shaped the piece of glass
into a treasured item. We are also like the treasured
piece of sea glass. Broken, we have experienced storms,
rough waters and heartbreak. We all have stories, but no
two stories or lives are alike. We are also treasured in
God's hands. Paul shares in verse 12 that everything that
has happened to him has helped to spread the Good
News. Our stories can also be used to point others to
God's healing grace. Our scars and storms are a part of
our story, an intricate piece that brings us to where we
are today. They reflect the love, redemption, and
healing power of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Your story may
be exactly what someone needs to hear to know that
they are not alone. They too can be recipients of the
grace, love, comfort, healing, and peace that only God
can provide.
Father, thank you for my brokenness and healing, and
for the storm that I am in right now. I pray that it will
help me to share your Good News. I pray that you will
place someone in my life that I can share my story with
to bring you glory.
Daily Challenge:
Take time to thank God for old spiritual scars and current
storms. Who may benefit from hearing your story? Pray for the courage to share.

I read and enjoyed your devotional this morning in the her binder project. I have been talking about how when it rains it pours and I have to remember to dance in the rain. I also have been toying around about starting a blog to share my story and what you wrote for her binder project has made me decide to go ahead and do so.
